Music Video Preparation for Road Safety
Currently we have observed high incidence of road traffic crashes in Nepal. Approximately 7 to 9 people die in Nepal due to road traffic crashes. The majority of them are of young age. We do not have well defined statistics of people who have lost their limbs or have sustained other injuries related to head, chest or abdomen.
When one suffers a road traffic crash, the situation is very pathetic. Life changes in a fraction of second. You might have had a cup of tea with him/her few minutes back and you hear that your friend or family member had to come to emergency and being shifted to operation theater (OT) for an emergency surgery or requires immediate intensive care unit (ICU) admission. At times the person may be severely disabled or even dead-on spot.
But when a person suffers a road traffic crash, then there is no any other choice than to regret in terms of loss of life/limb, personal and financial issues. We have been seeing this sort of issues in daily when parents come to hospital asking us to save life. But they don’t understand that it was avoidable and preventable. Most of the road traffic crashes, not all, are preventable if we just comply with traffic rules. One of the common reasons for such incidents is human negligence. Other factors are also important though.
It is high time we talk about road traffic crashes and discuss among ourselves so that most of them can be prevented and we know about the treatment priorities and outcomes along with importance of time and timely care.
